What to expect at a treatment session

Timings

The length of treatment is the time indicated on the treatment booking.

Please allow an additional 15 minutes on top of this time, as there will be an initial 10 minute consultation, and 5 minutes aftercare advice.

Please arrive promptly at the time indicated on the booking.

Consultation and treatment

Treatments start with an initial consultation. The first consultation takes approximately 10 minutes, and is an important first step to get to know you and what you are wishing to gain from a massage treatment. This also ensures that all the information relating to your medical history and current health is collected, and to ensure treatments are safe and meet your needs. Subsequent consultations are likely to be shorter.

Following the consultation, you will usually be asked to remove clothing for the areas to be treated. Towels are provided for your privacy and comfort.

If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know so that we can adapt the treatment to your needs.

Aftercare advice

Following the treatment, after care advice and recommendations will be provided.

To help your body flush out any toxins and replenish to get the best out of your massage, ensure you drink plenty of water and avoid caffeine and alcohol after your treatment.

It is common for people to experience mild side-effects after massage, such as headaches, soreness or tiredness. These should pass after 24 -48 hours, but if they last any longer, please seek medical advice.
